The Challenge
The Fair Folk agency needed to produce two broadcast spots for their new client, Culture Pop. The approved concepts called for two unique locations: a suburban neighborhood and a city park. Each set relies on oversaturated colors and a bright sunny day. The agency felt strongly that the spots should be produced using virtual production at Studio Lab to achieve the stylized look they desired. Shooting in our volume will guarantee perfect weather all day and a quick change from the neighborhood to park locations
The Plan
Agency Producer and Creative Director, Dave Shaw, wanted to direct the spots, so we partnered Dave with Sweven Visual Engineering for production support. Sweven sourced the crew and art department, allowing Dave and his creative team to focus on casting and client management. The Set Designer, Garrett Gage, built an amazing eight foot tall fruit tree that was propped with Culture Pop soda. When the practical set pieces were blended with the virtual location, the results were amazing!
The Results
The one day shoot was a model of efficiency and collaboration. We shot two unique commercials in 10 hours! The agency was very happy, and the clients were beyond thrilled! The Culture Pop clients loved the set so much, they asked for the Soda Stand and Fruit Tree props to be delivered and displayed in their lobby. The Culture Pop product launch has been very successful with awareness and sales increasing as a result.
