The Challenge
After a successful shoot in 2024, the Boston Red Sox invited us back to do it all again for the 2025 season. The goal was the same: capture eye-catching, high-energy footage of every player in just 5–10 minutes each, while maintaining production value worthy of Fenway’s Jumbotron and national broadcast spots. Ambitious? You betcha.
The Plan
Building on the momentum of last year, the Studio Lab crew traveled down to the Red Sox spring training facility in Florida with our full mobile virtual production setup: RED cinema cameras, Motorized Precision cinema robot, Disguise servers, AOTO LED wall, lighting, and other production gear. We handled all the tech, timing, and logistics for this shoot so the Red Sox creative team could focus on directing talent and pushing the creative envelope with their content.
The Results
Capturing a full season’s worth of awesome visuals in just a couple days – and having a blast doing it. Working with the Red Sox creative team feels like a dream. They’re ambitious. Great communicators. Total pros. This was our second year working together, and once again, we were blown away by their vision and efficiency. These folks are not only some of the most creative, talented professionals we’ve ever worked with, they’re also so kind, collaborative, and just fun to be around. This shoot was smooth, efficient, and full of energy from start to finish. We wrapped it up with that rare feeling you get when you know you were part of something special.
“Working with the Red Sox creative team is like working with a close friend on a huge wild idea, having a blast doing it, and then sharing your work with the world… kinda like the dreams you had as a kid.” – Tim Messina, CEO, Studio Lab
