The Challenge
Two weeks. That’s what we had to bring a Fortnite-inspired world to life in a way that captures the full Clix experience. The idea: “Sound Is Survival.” The goal? Take Cody out of his real-world setup in Texas and drop him straight into a fully immersive, in-game universe the moment he puts on the new JBL headset. And it had to feel real.
The Plan
We started by pulling elements from Cody’s actual environment — capturing 2D assets from his home in Texas — and used those as the foundation to build out a custom 3D digital world. Then we made that world unmistakably Clix with custom logos, branded environments, and a few inside jokes his fans would instantly recognize like the Clix Cuts barbershop and billboard (because his fans always joke about his haircuts). Virtual production and cinema robotics helped us capture multiple angles in a single shoot, and more importantly, use precise motion data to seamlessly composite Clix into the Fortnite-style world. This meant a faster production and better final results.
The Results
We captured Clix’s real reactions from being immersed in the game, plus detailed production shots and multiple gaming room setups with various actors for supporting media. This allowed Motion Bazaar’s team to build a polished 30-second hero video — plus a full suite of supporting assets — each one highlighting key features of the new JBL headphones. It was a whole lot of coverage from just one shoot day.
