Fanatics

The Challenge Conductor Productions approached Studio Lab to help solve some problems they were having with the video wall they were using for their Fanatics sport apparel commercials. They were experiencing banding, drop outs, and other issues leading to overages. The Plan Studio Lab invited Conductor to test their cameras on our LED Volume stage with a variety of Fanatics video content displayed. After a successful test, our team of LED wall technicians set up our LED walls on location for their shoot at Charles River Studio in Canton, MA. The Results Our walls performed flawlessly, allowing the Director and DP to focus on actor performances and active visuals, and not on technical issues. They saw NONE of the issues they experienced with the inferior LED panels they had been using and were incredibly happy and relieved that they had found a solution. Dropkick Murphys

The Challenge The Dropkick Murphys band and production team were doing tour prep and rehearsals in Studio A when the COVID 19 pandemic shut everything down. With their tour cancelled, they asked us if we could livestream their St. Patrick's Day concert in our studio. The catch? It was in less than two days. And we had never done an in-studio production of this size and scale under such a short timeline. The Plan With a crew of nearly 40 people who were eager and excited for a challenge like this, we setup our video wall, stage, jib crane, audio, video, lighting, and live switching in Studio A. The Results A rockin' concert that, at the time, was the most viewed livestream concert in history, with 40+ Million views across multiple platforms. UKG

The Challenge Produce a compelling “Town Hall” type presentation with five UKG corporate officers to communicate new product launches and exciting corporate initiatives to global UKG employees. The visuals involved had to be dynamic, intuitive and engaging to hold the employees interest. The Plan Merge the unique capabilities of Event United’s live event mastery and Studio Lab’s visual wizardry to stage a three camera live switch production with animated graphics and videos to be displayed on the 65’ x 15’ 8K video wall at Studio Lab. To account for the global audience in various time zones, the presentation was designed to feel like a live event, but was pre-recorded. Then, it was edited in Studio Lab’s DaVinci edit suite before finally being published to UKG’s website for global employee viewing. The Results A truly collaborative effort by Events United, Studio Lab, and UKG’s in-house creative team. The town hall video was informative, entertaining, and visually dynamic. It commanded attention and fostered many views by the global UKG audience. Partners Have a Vision? Contact Us! Follow Us

Top 3 Tech Company

Top 3 Tech Company The Challenge Our integrations team was brought in by a Top 3 Tech Company to assist with their virtual production workflows. However, the project’s scope quickly evolved when the client decided to relocate their LED volume to a new site and repurpose the space. The challenge was that the new location needed to function not as a virtual production studio, but instead as a multi-use space. This meant designing a system that was user-friendly enough to be operated by anyone, regardless of technical expertise. The Plan We oversaw the entire relocation process of the LED volume and meticulously redesigned the system, focusing on user experience. Our team turned complex workflows into intuitive operations, ensuring that the technology could be easily managed by users with little to no technical background. The Results Creating a versatile, user-friendly environment that not only enhanced the client’s virtual production capabilities but also expanded the functionality of their space, making it a valuable asset for a variety of uses. Maine Lottery

The Challenge Bright Matter Productions came to us with a unique challenge: create a 30-second commercial for the Maine Lottery featuring four different decades—'70s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s—each represented by the same living room set, but dressed to fit each era. And, of course, they needed it all done within three weeks on a modest budget. Naturally, we're all in! The Plan To nail the look of four distinct eras using XR technology with full tracking and parallax, we divided the workload between our team and a trusted external partner. We managed agency and client reviews with precision, quickly sending approved virtual sets to the Art Department, who sourced the perfect period-specific furnishings to complement the virtual backgrounds. The Results Because the shoot was captured in camera with no green screen and compositing required, and with match cuts facilitated with our KIRA motion control cinema robot, Bright Matter Productions was able to move right into post-production without getting bogged down with rotoscoping and green screen compositing. The whole project, from concept to air date, was wrapped up in just four weeks—saving time, money, and delivering an amazing spot that the agency and client absolutely love! Velcro

The Challenge Shoot an ad promoting a Velcro product, demonstrating it’s uses in multiple public and private gathering spaces…during COVID. The Plan Utilize LED Virtual Production and the Volume to build the needed environments in 3D. Shoot talent and product in front of their respective environments. The Results A full spot was shot in a single day with minimal crew and talent, all while maintaining COVID protocols which were in place at the time. Production was able to shoot in a basketball court, a hospital room, construction site, and school room, all of which would have been difficult or impossible to shoot practically due to health restrictions in place. Red Sox

The Challenge Create epic promotional content of all Boston Red Sox players quickly and efficiently at their spring training facility. Specifically, capture a variety of high-energy shots, poses, and backgrounds while keeping the shoot time to just 5-10 minutes per player. The Plan The Studio Lab crew traveled down to JetBlue Park in Florida with our video wall, Motorized Precision cinema robot, RED digital cinema cameras, Disguise servers, automated lighting, scenic, and rigging to aid the Red Sox creative team in creating unique promotional content. Everything was set up and operational by the end of the first setup day, including the full LED Volume stage and an additional infinity wall photo booth that was designed and built in house. The Results A seamless, high-quality production that delivered stunning, high-energy visuals, showcasing the Red Sox players looking their best on the Jumbotron and social media. We captured enough dynamic footage to cover the entire season while meeting the exacting standards of this iconic team, with much thanks to the level of excellence and efficiency of the Red Sox creative team. Godsmack

The Challenge To create a powerful music video with visuals that support the energy and lyrics of the song, including in-studio pyrotechnic and a character crossing worlds. The Plan To pre-record the character as if in one world, then use the LED volume to display the footage as if she is stuck in the screen while the band is playing. Then, to break free only to be locked back inside at the end. The Results Conceptualized and Directed by Godsmack’s own Sully Erna, the final music video is a true rock & roll creation. High energy, quick cuts, clear visuals, and a killer performance by the artist all come together to tell a story that reinforce the lyrics and showcase the emotion of the song.
